Square Photo Studio

For a seller, a product photo has a job to do. Square Photo Studio makes it possible to create that image on a phone, turning a captured photo into a clean product shot with automatic background removal.

Our work focused on getting sellers to that first useful result quickly. We designed around familiar mobile patterns and light contextual guidance, creating a straightforward path to capture a photo and see the background disappear. The product’s value could become clear through using it.

We worked on the go-to-market design and launch in 2021. Following the initial release, the design work extended into editing and visual customization, giving sellers more ways to shape their images while keeping the core experience approachable.
